The
WPC supply is compliant to MIL-STD-1399 Table I, section 300 in all
respects.
The power factor and current harmonics in the input side are fully
compliant to MIL-STD-1399, and further, it withstands the 1000V transient
of this standard. All other
static and dynamic requirements of the standard are met in full.
The capacity of the
WPC to conform to the difficult requirements of MIL-STD-1399 is a result
of a breakthrough design of an advanced Power-Entry-Module (PEM),
which provides isolated DC to the various converters and inverters
contained within the supply, while reflecting back to the input source a
load of almost unity power factor, and very low current harmonics.
This module has also proven its extreme ruggedness in its ability
to sustain the punishment of the 1000V transient with 4 ohm source
impedance called for by MIL-STD 1399.
In
addition to its MIL-STD-1399 compliance, the WPC also complies with the
environmental standards of MIL-STD-810 for shipboard applications, and
portions of MIL-STD-461 as well.
Like
most of Nova Electric’s numerous other custom designs, the WPC fully
complies to the classification of COTS.
It employs high-grade commercial components, and is nonetheless
able to meet demanding military specifications.
This supply offers extraordinary performance, the rugged
construction required to withstand severe environments, and compliance to
major military standards (MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461) at a
moderate price.
