The extremely compact, water-cooled
Nova PCM has dual inputs (320-420 VAC, 725 Hz, 25A and 230 VAC, 50-60 Hz,
111A) and dual outputs (230 VAC, 60 Hz, 50A and 28 VDC @ 147A). It is utilized
to power the Environmental Control Units and other special instrumentation
used on HMMWV and Armored Vehicles in the JSLNBCRS Program. |

threat to the
world today. Hostile elements have the capability to deliver Nuclear,
Biological and Chemical (NBC) agents virtually anywhere, at anytime - severely
impacting deployed forces and harming civilian populations.
The JSLNBCRS Program is an advanced warning system
designed to protect our armed forces and civilian population centers from
the NBC hazards. |

The objective of
this program is to help battle commanders locate and mark contaminated areas
by integrating chemical, biological, radiological sensors, navigation
devices and digital burst communications into two standard platforms - a
HMMWV and an armor variant - enabling them to quickly report contamination
while on the move or in stationary position, with minimum exposure to enemy
actions.

Nova Electric's power
conversion equipment is the main factor in maintaining optimal operation
conditions, from powering the ECU (environmental control unit), to
powering special instrumentation required for the success of the mission.
The ECU provides the necessary operating temperatures for all sensor
equipment under the most hostile conditions. The Nova PCM is specifically
designed for this type of harsh environment application. Further, its
modular design approach will permit rapid integration into a wide variety of
future armored vehicles as well. |
