FREQUENCY CONVERTERS
The
Galaxy-Series Frequency Converter can be modified
for the most harsh environment applications, including
shipboard and submarine. The example pictured
is a compact 5 KW NEMA-cabinet unit currently
supplied by Lockheed Martin in a variety of their
shipboard systems. This model has a three-phase
delta (shipboard power) input of 115 VAC RMS line
to line, 400 Hz (which complies with the input
spike section of MIL-STD-1399) and a pure sinewave
output of 120 VAC, 60 Hz, Single-Phase. This Converter
contains all of the features standard on other
Galaxy-Series units, as well as additional features
that make it ideal for shipboard and submarine
applications. These features include additional
ruggedization against shock, vibration, and humidity,
an internal EMI reduction package to meet portions
of MIL-STD-461, and AWC Teflon wiring used throughout
the unit (in lieu of standard PVC wiring). |
